At least it's not Valentine's

I am consistent in a few things and one is getting the Christmas card out a bit after the holiday - so here is a picture of the joyful greeting that you can view before.

Pennants

I loved the pennant banners that were in store windows in England, France and Holland. They made me happy with all the bright colors and patterns. I told myself that I would make my own once I was home... well I made a few strands and am giving them to people that make me happy for a Christmas gift. Maybe they can string the flags up on special holidays or birthdays and have instant party decorations. Who knows... some of the individuals who will be receiving these have wild imaginations.

Morning View

When I wake and finally open my heavy eyes in the morning I drag my bedhead and wrinkled pjs out onto the deck off of our bedroom and take a picture of the mountains. As I was perusing all the photos I was awestruck by this one. This was taken back in September when the leaves were bursting with liquid color and an unseasonal snow blanketed the mountain peaks. Can you believe this is outside my window each morning? ... no wonder we sleep with the draperies open.

Land needs attention too!

Land is back. After that horrible leg snapping Land is skating better than ever. At the Grand Nationals for Concrete Rodeo in August at the new Battleground, WA. park, Land placed seventh overall with skaters from all over the nation. At that competition he was selected to compete at the Great Northwest Gromfest in Whistler, BC next July. If you go to gromfest.org there is a profile of Land. He also has a profile on bernunlimited.com as he is a team member for Bern Head Protection. He doesn't like me to say too much about his skating (Skate Mom is a derogatory term) but I thought it was fairly significant that psychologically he could come back from such a terrible injury in a relatively short amount of time.

It's Been A Long Time...

I thought I better join the 21st century and start blogging when it's not a requirement for a class! I am wide awake from consuming a load of caffeine as I experienced my first "aura" as a prelude to a nauseating migraine headache. A chunk of my eyesight went missing for a few hours and a vice-grip of pain took its place. The doctor told me to rest - so I went to the Cache Valley Wild vs. Sky View hockey game. The Wild did not come away with a win as we are always hoping, but it was anxiety free as Chase is graduated. They could have used his checking abilities tonight. Just for kicks I posted a picture of Chase in last year's state tournament.
